A family building business, not a franchise
O.M. Renovators is a North Alabama builder specializing in aging-in-place renovations and full-service remodeling. Two of our founder's great-grandfathers built homes in Alabama, and his dad did too. He started working construction at twelve, learned the trade on job sites, and eventually started a business himself.
The aging-in-place specialty came later. After years of general remodeling work, our founder kept seeing the same thing: people leaving their homes — not because they didn't love them, but because the home hadn't been built to change with them. That's what led him to get CAPS certified and build aging-in-place renovation into a core part of the business, alongside the additions, kitchens, bathrooms, and garage projects the company has always done.

What CAPS certification means for you
CAPS stands for Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist — a credential created by the National Association of Home Builders with AARP. It trains builders specifically in how to modify a home for safe, comfortable living as mobility or health needs change, on top of the general contracting license required to do the work itself. We're one of the only builders with that certification in North Alabama.
